Known for its robust construction and practical design, North Coast boats have carved out a niche in the sportfishing community for their durability and functionality. This 24-foot sportfisher is no exception, offering a solid platform for offshore fishing adventures. With a length overall of 24 feet and a beam of 9 feet, the boat is designed to maximize deck space for angling, while its 165-gallon fuel tank ensures you can venture far without frequent refueling stops. Powered by a diesel engine, it cruises comfortably at 26 knots, reaching a top speed of 31 knots, making it both efficient and swift for its class. The North Coast 24 Express Sportfish is perfect for dedicated anglers who prioritize fishing capabilities. The boat's layout is optimized for fishing, with ample deck space and practical features that cater to day trips and coastal cruising with fishing stops. However, potential buyers should consider the limited cabin space, which may not be ideal for overnight trips, and the basic interior finishes that reflect its focus on functionality over luxury. Despite its age, this vessel holds its value well in the market due to its specialized appeal among anglers. Priced at $49,000 and located in Virginia Beach, Virginia, this sportfisher is competitively positioned for those seeking a reliable and efficient fishing platform. While it may not offer the luxury of newer models, its rugged construction and proven performance make it a compelling choice for serious fishing enthusiasts.
"Paladin" is a very well-kept 1988 North Coast 24' express sportfish powered by twin 250hp Cummins Diesels with less than 1,000 hours. (The engines were installed in 2002). What a rare find!! She is very offshore capable with her 54-degree entry deadrise that tapers out to 23 degrees at the transom- she slices through the chop with ease, and she sips fuel. On a typical 14-hour trip to the Norfolk Canyon and back, she burns only about 75 gallons running and trolling for the day. She cruises easily at 25 knots (2400 RPMs) and tops out at about 32 knots (3100 RPMs). Very impressive! Lift kept for much of her life, this boat is in terrific condition. In 2002, the bot underwent a renovation that included: -Twin Cummins 4B-T250A engines with VDO gages -ZF Gears -New 165-gallon heavy duty aluminum fuel tank wrapped in fiberglass -Fiberglass exhaust system -Trolling valves installed -Cabin heater for winter fishing -Nibral 4-blade propellers -Walker Airseps -Stainless steel fuel lines -Oil pump-out system Other notable features include: -Tuna tower with controls and electronics -Lee 18' outriggers -Removable (portable) 32-gallon live bait well with plumbing -Furuno Navnet chart plotter/fish finder both stations -Furuno Radar lower station (open array) -Simrad Autopilot lower station (AP50) -ICOM VHF -Two (2) Standard Horizon VHFs -Ritchie compass -Remote spotlight -Cockpit spreader lights -Full helm enclosure in excellent condition -Seven (7) flush mounted rod holders in the gunnels -Eighteen (18) rocket launchers on tower legs and tower -Electric flush head system -Helm and companion seats with bench seating aft -Bench-style seating in tower -Bennett trim tabs -Raw water washdown in cockpit -Fish box -V-berth forward -Overhead hatch in cabin -Lockable cabin door -Windshield wipers port and starboard -Battery Charger -Cabin heater that runs off the starboard engine heat exchanger. Produces enough heat within the helm deck enclosure to allow for comfortable winter fishing! All in all, a great fishing platform as well as a comfortable day-boat. Easy to see at Long Bay Point Marina in Virginia Beach, VA. 15 minutes from Norfolk International.
The North Coast 24 Express Sportfish is a testament to the brand's commitment to building durable and practical fishing vessels. Known for its solid construction, this model is favored by serious anglers who value functionality over luxury. The boat's robust hull and efficient use of deck space make it ideal for offshore fishing, while its diesel engine offers both power and fuel efficiency. However, the narrow beam can lead to some rolling in choppy waters, and the limited cabin space may not suit those looking for overnight accommodations. In terms of value, the 1988 model is competitively priced at $49,000, reflecting its specialized appeal. While it may not have the modern amenities of newer models, its durability and performance make it a reliable choice for dedicated anglers. A marine surveyor would likely focus on the condition of the hull, engine, and any electrical systems, given the age of the vessel. Overall, the North Coast 24 Express Sportfish is best suited for those who prioritize fishing capabilities and are willing to trade off some comfort for performance and reliability.
Owners appreciate the North Coast 24 Express Sportfish for its durability and fishing capabilities, though some note the limited amenities.
